Session 4

The British colonists were getting sick and tired of the unfair taxes the King of England was putting into place. This workshop will bring to life the problems the colonists faced with these taxes, how they came together to protest them (in quite creative ways), and what they decided to do that forever changed the future of our country.

Have you ever tried to stand up to someone bigger and stronger than you?!? The colonists had had enough of England's unfair rules and taxes, so they came together to fight against the "bully" (AKA England). This workshop will introduce you to some of the most famous people of the American Revolution who helped change the future of our country.

Wondering how colonists successfully overcame the big, powerful (and well-trained) British soldiers? Creative battle tactics! This workshop will help you understand the impact of surprise attacks by water, seizing weapons, positional advantage, fortifications, militiamen, illusion, trenches and so much more!

The poorer and less-equipped colonists had to get sneaky in order to stay on top of the powerful, well-trained British army. This workshop will explore the Culper Spy Ring, dead drops, invisible ink, ciphers, coded letters, hidden messages, and much more!
